Elegante Destacado was the 1996 Reserve Champion Andalusian 2-year old Stallion, and Reserve Champion Best Movement Purebred Andalusian Horse from the Festival of Horses in Shelbyville, Tennessee. This was Guapo's first showing on the Andalusian circuit, and was sure to be followed up by many Championships. In 2006 he qualified for nationals in 5 separate events, and he was ranked USEF #1 Andalusian in Michigan and #79 in the Nation (leading owner rankings), #1 in Michigan and #72 in the Nation (Andalusian/Lusitano Performance Horse), #1 in Michigan and #45 in the Nation (Andalusian/Lusitano Halter Horse), #1 in Michigan and #69 in the Nation (Andalusian/Lusitano Saddle Horse), and #1 in Michigan and #64 in the Nation (High Point Amateur Horse (Handled by Robert Huston)) -- with just one circuit show!

   

He is also the Grand Champion Jr. Colt from the Regional Andalusian Horse Show in Lexington, Virginia (August 1997), and he won the Gold Medal Movement Award for 1994, Purebred, colts at the Festival of Horses in 1997.

 

 

Born on May 10th, 1994, Elegante Destacado stands 16.2 hands and is showing the likeness of his Grand Champion imported Sire, Bontio VIII, and his Grand-Sire, Grand Champion Stallion, Infante T. Both Stallions are proven sires and have many Championships to their credit, including Dressage, Exhibition, and even Western Pleasure. Guapo excels in Dressage, and is currently in training for Jumping.
